Billing and Revenue Protection  Officer of NEDCO, Ing. William Kwame Asare

The Upper East Regional Office of the Northern Electricity Department of the Volta River Authority, VRA, says it will on Monday January 31, 2022 begin a mass disconnection exercise to enable them retrieve debts owed the company and to mobilize revenue to improve on its operations.

It also disclosed that defaulters have accumulated arrears to the tune of 68 million Ghana Cedis, with the highest defaulters being state institutions with arrears of 9 million Ghana Cedis as against postpaid billing of a 178,000 Ghana Cedis.

The Regional Billing and Revenue Protection  officer of NEDCO, Engineer William Kwame Asare, who made the pronouncement stated that staff from the Tamale office will be assisting his outfit to execute the intended disconnection exercise.

He, however, advised defaulting customers  to do the needful to avoid disconnection, adding that those with huge arrears can make  at least part payment of their outstanding and current debts whilst they take time to offset the remaining amount owed the company.
